With a degree in Graphic Design from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana-AZC, my design adventure began in Mexico City as a free-lance graphic designer. This was followed by appointments for in-house design at a couple of design studios, the Museum of Modern Art (CDMX), and part-time teaching at UVM-EM. Eventually, a dear friend suggested that I give the textile industry a shot and from there I became a free-lance colourist and designer. Needless to say, I fell in love with all things textiles  delving further in textile design by pursuing an MFA in Fibre Arts at the Savannah College of Art and Design with the support of a Fulbright-García Robles Fellowship

Once done with grad school, a new chapter began at SCAD as full-time faculty in the Fibres Department. Years later, I returned to Mexico City, which presented the opportunity to take a sabbatical of sorts and enrol in various professional advancement courses in art, graphic design, and textiles. Finally, since relocating to Toronto, I became a member at the Contemporary Textile Studio Co-op, a sessional instructor in the textiles studios at Sheridan College & OCAD University, and a volunteer in the Textiles and Fashions Department at the ROM.

After the pandemic much of that has changed. I've been mostly working from my home studio with a focus on textile print design (repeat-pattern) and hand-stitching while teaching sessionally at OCAD University.
